The Workshop goals are:

  • encourage drivers to consider traffic light junctions as areas of significant risk
  • highlight the dangers of 'jumping a red light', even marginally
  • help drivers make better informed driving decisions
  • change future driving behaviour to reduce number and severity of collisions at road junctions

workshop content

2½ hour Workshop

The entire 2½ hour Workshop takes place in a classroom.

  • An interactive session during which the group looks at; why drivers commit red light offences; what each phase of a traffic light sequence means; financial and personal implications of red light jumping; and practical advice when approaching a set of traffic lights.

The Workshop covers these key areas:

  • Dispel the myths about jumping a red light.
  • Discuss crash statistics at traffic light junctions.
  • Explore the delegate's attitude towards traffic lights and risk taking.
  • Look at the types of crashes that occur at traffic light junctions.
  • Look at the anatomy of a crash at a set of traffic lights.
  • Look at the consequences of a crash.
  • Encourage discussion amongst the delegate group.

Drivers must complete by attending the entire Workshop with an open mind.
